Since February, we have really been enjoying each other. The secret was to stop working so hard on our relationship. It was fun-starved! We're well, probably better, as a couple, than we've been in several years at least. We've turned a corner, I think, and are in what feels like a "stable, satisfying" state of our relationship. Thank you!
I have participated in three groups with Barbara and also had one-on-one counsel with her. She has been extremely valuable to me, as I am learning how to survive in a
neurodiverse marriage! It's hard to find truly Spirit-filled counselors for Christian wives who are in these kinds of marriages, and I praise God for Barbara!
The Cassandra Recovery group was what I expected and so much more! There was just the right amount of material, and these recourses along with the fellowship were very valuable to me. Barbara is wonderful! So supportive and knowledgeable! I wish it
could have been longer (I would have liked more time one each topic), but as it was, I totally recommend this type of group to anyone who wants to grow & heal.
I was just talking to one of my oldest friends with honesty about the divorce and my relationship with my ex. It was exhausting and painful to recount some of the shaming and blaming behavior he engaged in towards me. However, it was also powerful in
affirming my need to leave. The work Barbara and I did together to address some of the false guilt and blaming which lead to shame, saved me. I was able to start setting healthy boundaries and stop taking responsibility for my ex’s choices. It set my trajectory towards freedom! Thank you!!
I think we have had 8-9 counselors in our time, and I FINALLY feel like (with you, Barbara) we have landed in a place that can really help us grow. I just wanted to say how encouraged I was after our 2nd session. In fact, after our first one too. I have only done 2 other courses through Neurodiverse Christian couples, but your Cassandra
Recovery course and group is so different in so many ways. I absolutely love that there is this community, not just for the duration of the course, but ongoing.
I believe this Cassandra Recovery group is beneficial to people who've been married to someone with ASD a long time and those who have recently married. I'm new to learning about adults with autism and how it affects my marriage. I was at a low point when I started the group. By the end, I felt empowered and had tools to better myself and, therefore, my marriage. I had a better understanding of which of my husband’s issues were due to ASD and which weren't. I also began to set boundaries and to have better expectations for my marriage. I am more secure in who I am in my marriage.
Keep up with new group offerings, updates and access resources.
